Helsinki’s 3D Buildings (LOD1) data includes buildings located in Helsinki as a three-dimensional model (3D). The accuracy level (Level of Detail) is LOD1. There are four LOD levels, LOD1 is the simplest, “box model” type modeling level.
The starting data for the maintenance of the Helsinki 3D Buildings data are the base map and altitude data in different formats (laser point data, terrain measurements, altitude curves, etc.). The material covers the entire area of the city. The data does not include building characteristics.
The scale of the data is 1:500.
** Coordinate system and altitude system**
1. KMZ: WGS 84 (WGS 1984, EPSG:4326) and Global geoid model EGM96 (Earth Gravitational Model 1996)
2. SKP: ETRS-GK25 (EPSG:3879) and N2000 height system
The data is maintained in vector format Bentley MicroStation DGN file format. For the open data release, the data has been converted to GoogleKML (KMZ) and Sketchup (SKP) formats, so they can be utilised by, for example, Google Earth and Sketchup.
