Addresses, postal codes and WGS84 coordinates of Finnish buildings

This data package is collected from the Population Information System. It includes the region, locality, street address, house number, postal code and coordinates of Finnish buildings in WGS84 format. In addition, the material contains building codes and information on the purpose of the building: (1) a residential/business building or (2) a production/other building. The data was collected on 12 May 2022 and contains the data on completed and unfinished buildings that were in force at the time of the extraction. The total number of buildings is 3,724,149. The data is updated four times a year by picking up new up-to-date data from the Population Information System. The material includes buildings that meet the following conditions: a) The building has coordinate data and b) The building has at least a postal code. The data can be downloaded as a single 7-zip file containing data on buildings throughout the country. In addition, the dataset contains (i) a description of the schema of the csv file (json_table_schema.json), (ii) information about the publisher, licenses and sources (datapackage.json) and (iii) information about csv dialect.json.
