Dataset description

In the Helsinki City Museum’s Aarteni in Helsinki survey, respondents were asked to name places that belong to the Helsinki-based cultural environment. The megatrends included history, nature and the sea. The survey was open from 1 June to 31 August 2021. Approximately 300 individual sites were named and a total of 1072 people responded to the survey. All questions in the questionnaire can be found at [this link](https://www.hel.fi/hel2/tietokeskus/data/dokumentit/Aarteeni_Helsingissa_suomi_kyselyn_kysymykset.pdf) and the answers to questions 1, 2 and 3 will be published. The survey was carried out as part of the data collection carried out in the preparation of the Helsinki Cultural Environment Programme. The programme is carried out in cooperation between residents’ communities and authorities, while bringing together information that explains the development history of Helsinki-based environments and the identity of the regions. Responses to the questionnaire are published for data protection reasons without background variables. In addition, names, exact addresses, years or phrases that could allow the respondent to be identified have been removed from the published responses. The deleted items shall be marked with the entry [Removed]. The number of years enabling identification has been adjusted to the level of the decade, e.g. the exact year 1998 has become 199X. The replies will be published for the rest. In addition, two of the answers have been deleted from the phrase that is racist. These replies will also be published in other respects. A broader report on the questionnaire has been published on 4 November 2021.
