Dataset description

The data cover the areas important for aggregate maintenance (EOK) presented in the 2040 Regional Plan of Pirkanmaa, as well as the additional information produced in connection with the Pirkanmaa POSKI project (2012-2015). The spatial data set and the related classifications have been produced from the perspective of drawing up the regional plan and the related accuracy. The 2040 EOK areas of the Pirkanmaa regional plan are areas classified as suitable for the extraction of aggregates. The suitability classification terminology (applicable/unapplicable) is based on nationally applied terms used in POSKI projects. Due to the scale, the regional delimitations in the regional plan are slightly rounded/generalised in relation to the original evidence. Some of the areas that are suitable for initial take-up have been removed from the formula during the planning process and changes have been made to the demarcation of a few areas. The methods used in the Poski project are described in more detail in the reports and studies prepared in connection with the project. 1. Rock aggregate research in Pirkanmaa (general part and appendix) 2. Natural and landscape surveys in preliminary provincial plan 2040 soils and bedrock defects 3. Final report of the cheek project The Pirkanmaa Federation received funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) for the POSKI project by the Pirkanmaa Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment. In addition, the Pirkanmaa Federation, the Geology Research Centre, the Municipality of Kangasala, the Municipality of Lempäälä, the City of Nokia, the Municipality of Pirkkala, the City of Tampere and the City of Ylöjärvi contributed to the financing of the Poski project. Columns of the Feature Data Sheet Alkup_nro: The original number given to the area at the beginning of the work. Several regions may have the same original number, since they have subsequently been subdivided into sub-divisions. Tag: An identifier assigned on the basis of the classification of the site to distinguish the sub-areas from each other. The initial part of the identifier consists of the original number, and if the area is divided into sub-divisions, the rest of the tag is composed of their identifiers. The letter “E” after the symbol means that the area has been recorded as unsuitable for the extraction of rock aggregates (e.g. 157_E). Subdivisions may also be followed by an air-directional symbol if, for example, the area consists of two polygons (e.g. 44 east and west). With the help of the tag, the descriptions of the areas can also be found in the Nature and Landscape Maps report. The number: The number given to the region of Pirkanmaa in 2040 (the same as the original number). Due to the technical characteristics of the 9999 dataset, the code for areas classified as unsuitable (not included in the provincial plan) is valid (the column cannot be left blank). The sign: Emblem EO/k of significant areas in the regional plan of Pirkanmaa 2040, only for areas suitable for the extraction of aggregates. Additional information: The results of the nature and landscape surveys carried out in the terrain, the previously existing nature data of the area and any comments made by the ELY Centre’s expert on the site’s natural values. In addition, other possible reasons for the inapplicability or other additional information concerning the site have been recorded. Due to the constraint on the number of characters in the columns of the spatial dataset (254 characters), some texts have had to be slightly shortened. However, efforts have been made to keep the substance as in the report on landscape and nature surveys. The reason you apply.: The reason for the incompatibility; LMK = nature and landscape values, MKK = area removed in the regional plan coordination process, Other reason = area removed for other reasons. Suitable.: The suitability of the area for the extraction of rock aggregates; Suitable/not suitable for the extraction of rock aggregates. Archaeologists: The column shows whether the Geological Survey of Finland carried out arsenic measurements (yes/no) in the area concerned in the context of the POSKI project. If measurements have been made in the area, they have been carried out at three points. Therefore, the measurements are not covering the entire area. More detailed information on regional measurements can be found in the Rockstone Surveys in Pirkanmaa (GTK, 2014). CATEGORY: Cheek classification E/M (E = not suitable for taking, M = suitable for taking) The explanation: Cheek classification (see CLASS) written open (area not suitable for the extraction of rock aggregates/area suitable for the extraction of rock aggregates) Type of stone: region’s Stone Species Name: The names of the rocky areas surveyed in the area. There may be several names in one area. TVH 1988: The strength classification of the region’s rock species. Category A = strong aggregate, Class I and II = medium strength aggregate and class III and >III = mass stone. The municipality: Locality of the area at the time of compilation of the data (POSKI project 2012-2015) ChangePvm: Latest update of the material
