Dataset description

The building inventory collects basic information on the building stock of the area. The inventory examines the appearance of buildings, antiquarian preservation, representativeness from a cultural-historical point of view. The inventory data of the built environment in Southwest Finland will be opened to a limited extent from the database of the Turku Museum Centre/Regional Responsibility Museum of Varsinais-Suomi, MIP — Museum Information Portal. The data to be opened has been accumulated as a result of years of work since the 1980s. Data has been collected for different needs and systems, so their data format and content varies. Data has been opened at regional and target levels. In the case of target inventory, the data included the location, name and property identifier of the object, as well as a brief summary of the buildings, cultural historical values, value classification and photo. For some items, the opened data shows only the location and name. The site inventories contain information on the history, landscape and current state of the villages or districts, as well as on the whole of the built environment.
