Dataset description

This dataset describes the results of the Kira-Digi-funded DigiConcrete conspeti testing project. Concrete is the most used building material in the world and it is important to ensure its quality in the construction process. The concrete construction process consists of many different topics, where ready-made concrete is often produced far away from the construction site in a ready-made concrete mill and from which it is transported to the construction site in various conditions from a transport vehicle to be dismantled and moulded. Detecting potential quality errors as early as possible is important, because the earlier errors are detected, the less error correction it’s gonna pay. Due to the multi-stage and geographically distributed process, the flow of information and the scheduling of work is also challenging, causing delays in many different types of work. during the construction process. DigiConcrete is a collaboration organisation formed by Finnish construction companies, research institutes and start-ups, which uses digital methods to find a solution for quality management and productivity improvement in the field. The aim of this project was to identify new tools and methods that could be further refined into commercial methods that serve the sector.
