The aim of the survey “Digitality in the Public Works of Cultural Institutions” was to identify the practices, challenges and needs of cultural actors in the context of the public relationship maintained by digital means. This refers to activities in which a cultural operator interacts with its audiences, customers or visitors, or any other activity that enables them to participate in the activities of a cultural institution.
The survey was aimed at Finnish professional cultural institutions and actors of all sizes with performances, exhibitions or service activities aimed at the public.
The survey was conducted from 5 December 2017 to 28 January 2018. The survey was carried out using the Webropol survey tool. A total of 160 responses were received.
The survey is related to the study project “Digitality in the Public Work of Cultural Operators” launched by the Ministry of Education and Culture. The project will map out the practices, challenges and needs of organisations in digital audience work, increase cooperation and support the work of cultural actors. The survey was carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Cupore Centre for Cultural Policy Research.
