District of Helsinki

The Helsinki District Division data contains the boundaries of the district divisions of the city, as well as the names and symbols of the areas. The district division system of Helsinki is a regional division created for administrative purposes throughout the Helsinki area. The district division shall consist of the following territorial levels: major district (*stordistrikt*), basic district (*distrikt*), sub-area (*delområde*) and small area (*småområde*). The starting data for district maintenance is the base map and up-to-date city plans. The data is maintained in vector format in the Oracle Spatial database. The district distribution material is constantly updated based on the decisions of the City Geodeet. The data is maintained by the city measurement services of Helsinki’s urban environment industry. The district division data will be published as open data as necessary as the boundaries change. ** Coordinate system(s):** — ETRS-GK25 (EPSG:3879). Maintenance coordinates. Geometry of the target. ##Helsinki district divisions 1995-2021 The dataset of Helsinki district divisions 1995-2021 contains the boundaries of the district divisions of the City of Helsinki, as well as the names and symbols of the districts for the years 1995-2021. For the years 1995-2000, the data are missing the boundaries of small areas. The source of the publication is the Seutu-CD produced by HSY and the regional map published therein. The attached [Excel file](https://www.hel.fi/hel2/tietokeskus/data/helsinki/Helsingin_aluejaot_2016.xlsx) contains the 2016 regional divisions of Helsinki, which includes all regional levels. The file contains the regional codes of the Region Map, the official regional designation of Helsinki and the code+name used by Statistics Finland in its data. The second material is the postal area codes for sub-areas and small areas in their own tabs.
