Employed labour force in the Helsinki region by industry (TOL 2008), sex and age as of 31 December 2007. ##Regional Limits The Helsinki region consists of four municipalities in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area, Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa and Kauniainen, and ten framework municipalities Hyvinkää, Järvenpää, Kerava, Kirkkonummi, Mäntsälä, Nurmijärvi, Pornainen, Sipoo, Tuusula and Vihti. There is also information from the whole country. The Helsinki region is a housing and labour market area. ##Target and cropping The employed labour force includes all persons aged 15 to 74 who were gainfully employed in the last week of the year and who were not unemployed job seekers at an employment office or performing conscripts or civilian service. The information on employment is based on the data of the earnings-related pension and tax authorities. A person’s field of activity is determined by the industry of his/her workplace. All employees in the same establishment receive the same industry regardless of their occupation. The Industrial Classification is in accordance with Statistics Finland’s Industrial Classification (TOL) 2008.
