Dataset description

Municipalities are obliged to report their financial information to the State Treasury in accordance with the service classification of municipalities and joint municipal authorities (formerly JHS 200). Similarly, municipalities must describe their services in the Service Data Repository and provide the service descriptions with classification information (service category, target group and descriptors). These two classifications have been coordinated in the dataset. As an exception, services at the Undisaggregated level (e.g. unspecified rescue services) with a service number that has been left in the dataset, but no equivalents are recorded. Each service of municipalities and joint municipal authorities is equivalent to a set of PTV metadata, which consists of a service category, target group and descriptors. The data has been produced in cooperation between the Digital and Population Data Services Agency, the Association of Local Governments and the Municipalities Tiera. The data enables municipalities and joint municipal authorities to utilise their PTV data as part of financial reporting, statistics or service planning.
