Dataset description

The material shows the excess network pressure (m) of HSY’s water distribution network, i.e. the difference between pressure and the pressure needed by the property. The higher the value, the more the network pressure exceeds the pressure required by the property. If the value is negative, network pressure may not be sufficient for the property’s needs. Excess network pressure in the property increases the flow of taps and thus water consumption and can increase the noise noise of the network. If the property has a lot of extra network pressure, the pressure in the property can be reduced with a standard pressure valve. If, on the other hand, network pressure is insufficient, the pressure can be increased by means of a building-specific pressure increase, i.e. a pump. The material is a combination of several sources. The network pressure for each property has been obtained from the hydraulic model of HSY’s water distribution network. If network pressure fluctuates at different times of the day, the lowest normal pressure has been used to calculate the excess pressure. In turn, the required pressure per property has been calculated using the highest roof interest rate (height from sea level) and ground interest rate data of the building. In calculating the pressure level required in the building, the formula was used in the manual RIL 237-2-2010, the design of water supply networks. The pressure level requirement was calculated as the sum of the height of the highest water supply point of the building and the pressure drop in the water supply equipment of the building: pressure level requirement H = Hg + b where — HG is the height of the highest water supply point of the property, Hg = roof height (meters above sea level) — 1 m —B is the pressure drop in the water supply equipment of the building, calculated as follows: B= 15 + 0,5*n = furniture pressure drop 5 m + plot water pipe 1 m + water meter 4 m + internal piping in a single-storey building 5 m + 0.5 m for each additional layer. The floor height was assumed to be 3 m. — These give H = (roof altitude -1) + 15 + 0,5*(building height/3) In the material, the excess pressure is presented in metres of the water column and classified as 10 metres. Ten meters is about one bar pressure. There may be errors in the material. Therefore, information about the additional network pressure of an individual property should be taken as a guideline. If the material shows that there is a lot of extra pressure, it is good to check with measurements before installation of the valve. **Categorisation:** — less than 0 m: There is no additional network pressure or network pressure is insufficient for the property’s need. — 0-10 m: The additional network pressure is less than 10 meters. Network pressure is suitable for the needs of the property. — 10-20 m: There is an additional network pressure from 10 to 20 meters. — 20-30 m: Additional network pressure is between 20 and 30 meters. — more than 30 m: The additional network pressure is over 30 meters.
