Dataset description

The aim of the Atlas of Birds is to find out the distributions of nesting bird species in Finland and to study changes in the distribution of the species. Data on the occurrence of bird species were collected from 10x10 km² uniform coordinate grids throughout Finland in 1974-79 (1st atlas), 1986-89 (2nd atlas), 2006-2010 (3 rd atlas) and 2022-2025 (4th atlas). 1.-3. Atlas data are available as CSV files by uniform coordinate box, the 4th Atlas data is available as individual observations via the Laji.fi portal and as species maps via the Atlas Results Service (lintuatlas.fi).
