Forest resource information is available in two different formats:
as log material and forest resource patterns.
The collection of forest resource data is based on laser scanning, aerial imaging, measurement of reference test plots, and
for forest interpretation based on these data.
Remote mapping-based forest interpretation
covers all forests since the 2013 inventory, but graphed forest resource data are produced primarily for private forests.
Graph data can also be processed by general government, such as municipalities or
parish lands, if they are forest owners in Metsään.fi service.
The countries of general government do not
however, terrain inventory related to the collection of forest resource data.
The annual inventory is approximately 10-12.
a total of 1.5 million hectares of private forests in different parts of Finland.
The inventory cycle is 10 years.

In case of major update that would not be compatible with previous version of API, we keep for 30 days both versions so you will have enough time to transfer to new version. We will inform you about the changes in advance by e-mail.
