Helsinki’s laser scanning data is a series of laser point clouds that cover the entire city area. Laser scanning data is a three-dimensional dot-like data describing the surface and objects on the ground.
Laser scanning data can be utilised e.g. in the formation of terrain models, the production of altitude curves, zoning and in research following changes in the natural environment.
Helsinki’s laser scanning data will be published as LAZ files in the ETRS-GK25 magazine distribution. The coordinate system of the data is ETRS-GK25 (EPSG:3879) and the height system N2000.
Two different versions of the material are published, a version containing “**all points**” and a “**soil**” which contains only ground-level scores.
