Dataset description

Helsinki Region Transport (HSL) produces passenger information on public transport in Helsinki, Espoo, Kauniainen, Vantaa, Kerava, Kirkkonummi, Sipoo, Tuusula and Siuntio. It is possible to search for public transport routes, routes, timetables and vehicle locations through open interfaces for all. The interfaces of the route guide ([routeopas.fi](https://www.reittiopas.fi/)) provide data related to routing, geocoding, map data and positioning through several APIs. Available interfaces: — [Routing API](https://digitransit.fi/en/developers/apis/1-routing-api/), Route, Line and Schedule queries either via [GraphQL-API](http://graphql.org/) or [REST] interface — [geocoding-API](https://digitransit.fi/en/developers/apis/2-geocoding-api/), [Pelias](http://pelias.io/) [REST] interface — [map-API](https://digitransit.fi/en/developers/apis/3-map-api/), HSL’s background map as a TMS service ([Tile Map Service](https://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Tile_Map_Service_Specification)) and various public transport-related target levels (e.g. travel card sales points, city bike stations & access parking spaces) as [Mapbox Vectoritile]. — [real time-API](https://digitransit.fi/en/developers/apis/4-realtime-api/), [GTFS-RT](https://developers.google.com/transit/gtfs-realtime/) and [MQTT](https://developers.google.com/transit/gtfs-realtime/) inputs For more information: [digitransit.fi](https://digitransit.fi/) The data of the public transport network is updated from HSL’s public transport register to the route guide background systems on a daily basis.OpenStreetMap’s data is updated to the route guide for routing, geocoding and background map on a daily basis. However, for the background map, the results are visible to users with about a week’s delay due to different cache settings. ##Public Transport Lines & Schedules (GTFS) HSL’s public transport register data is compiled daily in [GTFS](https://developers.google.com/transit/gtfs/).All public transport routes with a valid timetable will be included in this selection. The time window for picking is currently three months from the beginning of the picking week. The GTFS format can be found in [here](http://dev.hsl.fi/gtfs/). ##Traffic bulletins [HSL News API](https://www.dropbox.com/s/iey5z5st8knzf8g/HSLNewsApi.rtf) provides news and traffic bulletins published on hsl.fi in json format.Information on untimely shifts can be found in the above-mentioned route guide interfaces, e.g. routing API [disruption-info](https://digitransit.fi/en/developers/apis/1-routing-api/disruption-info/) & real-time API [service-alerts](https://digitransit.fi/en/developers/apis/4-realtime-api/service-alerts/).
