HSL’s increase in public transport

The number of public transport offered by HSL increased by stop. The number of risers per stop is the average of weekdays (Mon-Fri) in November. The increase in bus traffic at the stop is based on travel card stamps, which are increased by raising coefficients to cover, for example, those travelling with strollers or with a single ticket. Due to various malfunctions of the LIJ system, missing stampings are assessed using statistical methods. The number of lifters for frame bus lines, trams and trains is based on Dilax’s automatic counting machines. 30 % of frame buses, 25 % of trams, and 100 % of HSL’s purchasing trains are equipped with calculation equipment. However, due to malfunctions of the equipment, the measurement percentages are lower than these. Missing measurements are assessed using statistical methods. The number of risers in the metro can be obtained from automatic counters in the passageways leading to the platform (e.g. escalators). The passenger counting of ferry services is regulated by the Maritime Transport Act, which requires a manual calculation of the riser numbers. For this reason, the increase in ferry traffic is the most accurate of the modes of transport.
