JHS 189 License to use open data

The purpose of the Public Administration Open Data License, hereinafter referred to as the licence to use open datasets, is to provide legal certainty that the data subject to the licence can be freely used in all possible ways, provided that the source of the data is mentioned in the licence. Re-use rights to open datasets in the Finnish public administration are recommended to be granted with an open license, which belongs to the Creative Commons license family. The recommended license is Creative Commons Name 4.0. The purpose of this Recommendation is to make the content of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence that is the subject of the Recommendation more understandable in the practical application of public administration. The recommendation must be read in conjunction with the actual Licence text, which is much more detailed.
