The Recommendation defines the structure of information management plans to be developed in public administration. The aim of the Recommendation is to harmonise the information management plans, the metadata used in public administration and their data sets. The structure of the data management plan as defined in the recommendation and its mandatory metadata meet the requirements of the SÄHKE2 standard of the Archives Institute. In particular, data management plans are developed and updated when switching to electronic processing processes, when automated control of document data management is to be implemented in the information systems and when an organisation wants its information systems to comply with the document data quality requirements (SFS-ISO 15489/1).
The recommendation is written in the format of the technical specification described in JHS 136, which is why the requirements are separated from the rest of the text and the form of the requirements is underlined. The requirements set out in the JHS Recommendation are not binding on public administration organisations.
