JHS 196 EUREF-FIN coordinates in Finland

This Recommendation describes the national realisation of the pan-European ETRS89 comparison system and recommends the use of the EUREF-FIN framework for mapping and spatial data services, inter alia, instead of the Map Coordinate System (KKJ). The recommendation is intended primarily for producers of spatial data sets and systems, but also for users. The recommendation is of a technical nature. Its aim is to support the use of ETRS89 in Finland and to harmonise the comparison framework used. This JHS Recommendation replaces the JHS 153 ETRS89 coordinates in Finland. The recommendation is written in the format of the technical specification described in JHS 136. The requirements are separated from the rest of the text and the form of the claims is shown in bold. The requirements set out in this JHS Recommendation are not binding on public administration organisations. However, those who make use of the recommendation should take into account, inter alia, the INSPIRE legislation. The recommendation provides the tools for fulfilling INSPIRE regulations for coordinate systems.
