Pavement substrate processing (road register data type 152)

The data cover the road network maintained by the Finnish Transport Agency. The data shall be registered whenever a 1-runway road on both lanes or two roads has been subjected to a lane width operation on the old pavement (+carrying layer) during the paving year before the actual wear layer spreading. Uniform sections are entered in the road register in relation to the processing method used and the thickness of the layers. Coating substrate treatment refers to operations carried out on an old coating (+carcasing layer) during the paving year before the application of the new coating that remains the actual surface. Such measures generally include light, load-bearing improvement measures and various equalisation and milling measures. If substrate handling (mainly milling) is part of the actual paving method itself (MPKJ, REM, REM+, REMO, ART and KAR) shall not be recorded separately. For platform handling, the average thicknesses of stabilisation, ABK, ABS and added equalisation mass and crushing layer are also recorded.
