Population by statistical area

Includes data on the number of population by statistical area. The number of population shall be reported on the last day of the reference year (31.12.). The statistical areas are municipalities, sub-regions, counties, major regions, regional State Administrative Agencies (AVI) and Centres for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment (ELY). The statistical variables in the data are: total population of the region (invasion), share of population of the region in the total population of the country (vaesto_p), number of men (men) and men in the population of the region (men_p), number of women (women) and women in the region (women_p), under 15 (ika_0_14) and under 15 (ika_0_14p), 15-64 years old (ika_15_64) and share of persons aged 15 to 64 (ika_15_64p), persons aged 65 or over (ika_65_p) and 65 years of age (ika_65_p). In addition, the data includes the year of the classification of regions (year) and the date of the statistical data (til_year). The data is suitable for analysing population numbers and for carrying out various regional analyses.
