Dataset description

Finnish Post Offices have been published in xml format on Finnish post offices since 1638. It includes the name of the establishments, the postal code, the founding name, the date of possible establishment and termination (date) and the managers until 1916. The information is based on the postal site database maintained at the Postal Museum. The name of the post office appears in the form given in the information circular. In the name there are obsolete numerical forms, such as Helsinki 70, which have not been updated due to the separation of sites, as some information about the postal code is missing. The data does not contain information on the municipalities of the establishments.
