Soil 1:1 000 000 represents the soil as geological strata classified by method of production. The layer classes describe the discoveries of the bedrock, different soil deposits and formations. The minimum size of the soil pattern is usually 1 km². The figure shows the most common type of strata in the area. In some places account has been taken of deposits that are significant from the point of view of the soil, even smaller than a square kilometre. The narrowest point of the figure was 0.5 km and in important cases e.g. ridges 0.3 km. As an exception, the size of small ridges is exaggerated.
