Network boffers tell about the accessibility of train and metro stations through the light traffic network. All the train and metro stations in the Helsinki Region and Siuntio have a total of 81. The zones are calculated for distances 200, 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1200, 1400, 1600, 1800 and 2 000 m. They are formed along the light traffic route, taking into account the obstacles created by the road network and the environment. Thus, network boffers allow for more accurate spatial data analyses and a clear and consistent way to view the location of the station. The material is in the form of Esrin shape and the coordinate system is ETRS-GK25 (EPGs 3879).
The production of the station location data is based on the final product of the project (ELIAS) Work Package 2. Elias is a project carried out in cooperation with HSY, the Uusimaa Federation and the Ministry of the Environment, with the objectives of improving the knowledge base on the status areas, making better use of the potential of the station areas, and developing their functionality and attractiveness as part of a new type of urban development and a low-carbon society. The work package 2 of the Elias project was implemented during 2015.
