Telephone numbers for City of Helsinki departments

the numerot.hel.fi service provides an Internet interface for browsing and searching the phone numbers of the City of Helsinki’s offices and businesses. The service is based on data extracted from the city’s telephony system. The service can be accessed not only through the standard web or HTML interface, but also through the XML interface. Both interfaces are public and accessible to all. Web pages http://numerot.hel.fi/ can be browsed and searched for numbers from the full list. You can link to the numbers of a particular organisational unit or person directly from other pages. A search form using the service, which limits the search to the desired organisational unit, is easy to add to any web page. Phone numbers can be downloaded directly from the service to the address book of your computer or smartphone as a vCard business card if the device supports the vCard format. You can also make links to these vCards from outside. The XML interface allows you to use all the same functions as the HTML interface. Queries are done in the same way with the HTTP GET protocol and the answers are XML format according to the service’s own DTD specification.
