The 4th Stage Provincial Plan of Uusimaa

Situation after 24 September 24.9.2021: Only the wind power solution (four areas suitable for wind power production as well as the local wind power planning recommendation, which will partly remain in force) and the labels of Natura 2000 sites and nature conservation areas are valid from the 4th Stage Provincial Plan of Uusimaa. Uusimaa’s fourth phase regional plan aims to support sustainable competitiveness and well-being in Uusimaa. Land use choices also contribute to the objectives of the Uusimaa programme. The Uusimaa Regional Council approved the formula on 24 May 24.5.2017. On 21 August 21.8.2017, the Provincial Government decided that the plan would enter into force before it became final. Now the provincial plan has entered into force, as it has been published in the municipalities that belong to the county plan area. It is more strategic than previous regional plans. It complements and revises existing provincial plans for the following themes: •business and innovation •logistics •wind power •green structure •cultural environments The solutions will ensure the competitiveness of Uusimaa and the business environment for a long time into the future, and support the well-being of Neo-country residents and the vitality of the region. The formula also shows significant regional logistics areas and the transverse connections needed for logistics to Central Uusimaa. In addition, potential provincial wind power areas are identified. In order to safeguard biodiversity and ecosystem services, the formula designates a provincial network of green areas and their connections, for example as nature reserves and recreation areas. The plan also shows regionally valuable cultural environments. In addition to these, the plan covers other topical topics, such as Malmi Airport as well as the new areas of the main railway station, Tuusula Cross-kytö and Hyvinkää Palopuro. The formula covers the entire territory of 26 municipalities in the county, with the exception of Östersundom, where a separate formula is drawn up.
