Uusimaa county plan

Situation after 24 September 24.9.2021: Only entries concerning Natura 2000 sites are valid in the Uusimaa regional plan. The confirmed regional plan covers the Uusimaa region before the municipalities of Eastern Uusimaa join the county. It includes, for all forms of land use, the principles of land use and urban structure far into the future. The plan was confirmed by the Ministry of the Environment on 8 November 2006. The plan became final when the Korkein hallinto-oikeus (Supreme Administrative Court) on 15 August 2007 dismissed all nine appeals against confirmation. The plan was confirmed in accordance with the decision of the Regional Council of December 2004, with the exception of three areas suitable for wind power production and one urban area in Vantaa. The wind power areas that have not been confirmed are located in the sea areas south of Hanko Syndalen, Ekenäs and Espoo. The unconfirmed area of urban activities is located in the nationally valuable cliff area of Petikko-Herrmanskärret. The decision repealed the regional plans previously in force in Uusimaa and the regional plan for Western Uusimaa.
