Dataset description

The data contains the voting results of Helsinki’s participatory budgeting, compiled and anonymised in an Excel file, so that an individual respondent cannot be identified. Data is available from the 2021 and 2019 votes. Anyone living in Helsinki was allowed to vote. Voting took place from 6 October to 28 October 2021 and on 1 October. — 31 OCTOBER 2019. These links can be used to find out which proposals received funding and how the implementation is progressing: [2021](https://omastadi.hel.fi/processes/osbu-2020/f/186) and [2019](https://omastadi.hel.fi/processes/osbu-2019/f/173/?component_id=173&locale=fi&participatory_process_slug=osbu-2019). __Proposals/plans by number of votes__ tab includes the voting method of each proposal/plan in the vote (strong identification with Suomi.fi or Wilma for schoolchildren over 12 years), the voting area (large district or the whole of Helsinki) the subject of the proposal/plan (for the selection options given to the author) and the code (individual number), the name (name given by the author) and the total number of votes received by the proposal/plan. The information on the __Votes_ tab is the voting method, the electorate’s area of residence (large district and the whole city, written/numbered 1 to 7), the voter’s gender (f=woman, m= man), the school level among those who voted with Wilma recognition, the age group (classified into the 7 age group) and the number of voters. __Vote activity over 20V__ tab includes the postal code, region name (urban area), persons entitled to vote (Lm), voters (lkm) and voter turnout.
