Dataset description

Block falls, or landslides, is one of two types of terrain movements considered and mapped in Mayotte. It is a brutal phenomenon mobilising rock elements present in the often steep slopes. These rock blocks, more or less large, can reach significant distances and a very high velocity of movement. Natural or human-caused erosion and earthquakes can be triggers for these blockfalls.
