Dataset description

This study, led by CETMEF and carried out in collaboration with the CETE Mediterranean and the Western CETE, provides a national synthesis of current knowledge on coastal risks (erosion of low-furnished coasts and cliffs, dune advances, marine submersion) and establishes a simple mapping of the areas currently vulnerable to coastal risks in metropolitan France. The study is thus divided into two parts: a bibliographic synthesis on the one hand and the definition of methods for quantifying vulnerability on the basis of cartographic indicators on the other. The indicators produced in the study are: — the level of knowledge of coastal risks, — low areas, — orders recognising the state of natural disaster (CAT-NAT) linked to the sea, — atlases of flood zones and prevention plans related to the sea, — the stakes in low areas, — the cross-indicator IBC representing the degree of intensity of the building in the municipalities located in low areas which have been the subject of a decree of natural disaster linked to the sea, — the cross indicator IB representing the degree of intensity of the building in the municipalities located in low areas. These indicators are now available for visualisation except for the indicators “level of knowledge of coastal risks” and “at stakes in low areas”, which have limited value for dynamic visualisation. For more information on the methods for determining indicators, you can access the study report available at: http://www.cetmef.developpement-durable.gouv.fr/vulnerabilite-du-territoire-a406.html Benchmarks used: BD Gaspar, download version 4 on 13/01/2009 (MEEDDAT/DGPR) BD TopoPays ©® IGN 2008 Coastline Histolitt ® IGN-SHOM 2007 Coastal municipalities according to IFEN and Decree No 2004-311 of 29 March 2004, Article L.321-2 of the Environmental Code C_cat_nat_france_L93_Classes_CAT_MAR C_AZI_graphic_Submersion_Marine C_Com_littoral_decret C_Somme_communes_PPRNonprescribed_not approved_Values_NONAPPROUV C_Somme_communes_PPRprescrit_Values_Somme_PPRprescribed C_IBC_DIF c_ZB_france_code_text_Values_code_t c_IB_DIF c_IBC_France_Classes_ICA C_Somme_communes_PPRapproved_Values_PPRAPPROUV c_IB_France_Classes_NBA
