Dataset description

Dam files within the meaning of SIOUH (Water Works Information System) created in April 2018 and updated in April 2019 File created as part of the atlas of departmental and regional maps. Classification of dams according to the decree of 12/05/2015 The dams are now divided into three classes, according to two geometric parameters which are the height H of the dam above the natural terrain and the volume of water in the reservoir (volume V is expressed in millions of cubic metres). These two parameters make it possible to calculate a parameter K =H² x (V)½. Class A dams, the most important, include all dams of height greater than or equal to 20 m and which also meet condition K ≥ 1500. Class B dams of height greater than or equal to 10 m shall also meet condition K ≥ 200. Class C dams are at least 5 metres high and retain, when full, a sufficient volume of water to K ≥ 20. The same class also includes dams above 2 m, which also retain more than 0.05 million m³ of water and for which there is at least one dwelling less than 400 m downstream of the dam. Other dams are considered unclassified within the meaning of the last decree. (Source CFBR French Dams and Reservoir Committee) There are 3 classes of dams: — class A: H ≥ 20 and H² x V½ ≥ 1 500 — class B: Work not classified as A and for which H ≥ 10 and H² x V½ ≥ 200 — class C: works not classified as A or B and for which H ≥ 5 and H² x V½ ≥ 20 work for which the conditions set out in a are not met but which meets the following cumulative conditions: H > 2; v > 0,05; there is one or more dwellings downstream of the dam up to a distance from the dam of 400 metres.
