Dataset description

Temporary restriction of access to the DPMN of the islet of the Cross, pursuant to a prefectural order issued on 19 March 2021, in order to protect the avifaune and its breeding sites. The islet of the Cross is a site with high nesting stakes for two coastal shorebird species, the interrupted collared gravel and the oyster. These species are particularly vulnerable during the breeding period. The health context of spring 2020 offered the avifaune a period of unprecedented and profitable tranquility, which was extended by a municipal by-law during the summer. As a continuation of these actions to protect these species and their breeding sites, an area restricting access to the DPMN was regulated by Prefectural Order No 29-2021-03-19-00005 of 19 March 2021. This restricted area includes the foreshore and the land part of the islet. The order is: — scientifically motivated (Scientific reports of Brittany Vivante/Nesting check of the interrupted collared gravel); — limited in space, on major breeding sites of these species — limited in time: temporary character (over 2 years, 2021 and 2022 followed by evaluation) and seasonality of the ban: critical period of reproduction from April 1 to August 31.
