New-Aquitaine: Perimeters of the countries

A country is a project territory characterised by "geographical, economic, cultural or social cohesion; a place of collective action which brings together municipalities, groupings of municipalities, socio-professional organisations, companies, associations... around a joint development project; a privileged level of partnership and contractualisation that facilitates the coordination of community, state and European initiatives for local development. The Urbanism and Habitat Act of 2 July 2003 governs the procedure for establishing a country. The municipalities and groupings concerned, in association with a development council, draw up the country’s sustainable development project. They deliberated to approve the project and the perimeter of the country. It is the agreement of the elected representatives on the joint project that is the foundation of the country. The perimeter of the country is therefore the result of the project and not a prerequisite. This JDD is created on the perimeter of New Aquitaine.
