Nitrate Reinforced Action Zones — ZAR — Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes

(Order No 2018-248 establishing the programme of regional actions for the protection of waters against pollution caused by nitrates of agricultural origin for the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of 19 July 2018) The reinforced action areas demarcated by the Prefect of the region pursuant to Article R 211-81-1 of the Environmental Code shall correspond to the areas for the abstraction of water intended for human consumption with a nitrate content of more than 50 milligrams per litre (determined on the basis of the 90 percentile for the years 2015 and 2016 at least or using a longer chronic if available). The demarcations of these areas correspond depending on the case: — the catchment feeding areas (ACAs) where these are defined; — in the absence of AAFC, at the perimeters of protection, if they exist; — in the absence of a protective perimeter, the area of the municipalities where the catchments are situated. In the absence of AAFC, these perimeters may be expanded as a result of a hydrogeological study. In these areas some measures of the National and Regional Action Programmes “Nitrate” are reinforced.
