Dataset description

The State prepares, in the light of the information available to it, Sectors of Soil Information (SIS). SIS shall include land where knowledge of soil pollution justifies, in particular in the event of a change of use, the carrying out of soil studies and the introduction of pollution management measures to preserve safety, health or public health and the environment. They are made available to the public after consulting the town halls and informing the owners. The site Géorisques.gouv.fr, developed by the BRGM in co-ownership with the State represented by the Directorate-General for Risk Prevention (DGPR), presents to professionals and the general public a series of information on risks of natural or technological origin on French territory. Access to and use of the site implicitly implies acceptance of the general terms and conditions of use. The Soil Information Sectors are developed in each department by the Ministries and Administrations (DREAL, DRIEE, etc.) which have knowledge of sectors meeting the SIS criteria. SIS shall be published in the form of fact sheets which provide the list of the parcels concerned, the situation maps of the SIS perimeters and the main information.
