Dataset description

Service WFS — As part of the implementation of SRADDET, Cerema administers the database of collision observations with wildlife on the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes road network. This database aggregates the data collected from the various partners, in a protocol or opportunistic way. Based on the information collected, Cerema makes use of this data, with the aim of improving knowledge of points of wildlife/vehicle conflict at regional level, and to inform the implementation of public policies to restore ecological continuity. The heterogeneous observation pressure on the territory makes it possible to exploit the data collected only on a part of the regional road network for which the frequency of passage of observers is almost daily. For example, 6 000 km of road network can be described as to whether or not they are accidental to wildlife, on the 60 000 km of road in the region. For each section described are indicated the number and linear density of collisions observed over the years 2018 and 2019, with a detail per animal family (large mammals, small mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians). This operation receives financial support from the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region.
