Prioritisation of the roads of Rennes Métropole

This layer represents the hierarchy of roads in Rennes Métropole. The latter prioritises the sections of the road network it manages in order to adapt its level of service to traffic, safety and management issues. 2 types of prioritisation are proposed: The hierarchy of the Directorate of Highways, which is broken down into 5 levels: — National road; — Transit network; — Structuring network; — Distribution network; — Service network. => the “Transit Network” corresponds to the strategic network consisting of four axes converging towards Rennes and the second Rennes belt (former departmental roads of category A and B); => the “structuring network” corresponds to the network structuring the metropolis and the municipalities (former departmental roads of category C, and old municipal roads of the arterial route type, district service belt, road structuring the urban area); => the “distribution network” corresponds to the distribution network at the level of a district or municipality (former departmental roads of category D, and former municipal roads of the type of distribution route, communal main road, main municipal road outside agglomeration, urban service line); => the “Service Network” corresponds to the end network of local intra-neighborhood or rural services (former communal routes of the type of service, inter-neighbourhood, local service lane). The prioritisation of the Urban Travel Plan (UDP) which breaks down into 6 levels: — National network; — Reinforcement network; — Support network; — Main distribution network; — Secondary distribution network; — Service network. This layer is therefore represented as 2 styles on the Geographical Data Portal.
