Dataset description

In order to preserve the health quality of shellfish production and the general quality of coastal water bodies and transitions, it is prohibited, save by derogation, to apply livestock manure to agricultural land situated less than 500 metres from a shellfish zone (classification of shellfish production zones defined by Prefectural Decree No 29-2021-07-28-00003 of 28 July 2021, available on the site of the Prefecture of Finistère). This reduction of 500 m for livestock manure applications is imposed by the regulations on Environmental Classified Installations (ICPE), the Departmental Sanitary Regulation of Finistère (RSD) and by the regional action programme adopted pursuant to the Nitrates Directive and is defined on the basis of the boundaries of shellfish areas. Derogations from this rule may be requested for Type I and II fertilising products under a technical protocol which uses 3 additional strips also represented: • protection zone from 0 to 50 m • protection zone from 50 to 200 m • protection zone from 200 to 500 m Source: DDTM29/DML/SL/UCM according to Order No 29-2021-07-28-00003 of 28 July 2021 classifying shellfish production areas.
