Organisation administrative du territoire. A la différence du canton, le « Canton-ou-ville » (ou pseudo-canton) est un regroupement d'une ou plusieurs communes entières. Dans les agglomérations urbaines, chaque canton comprend en général une partie de la commune principale et éventuellement une ou plusieurs communes périphériques. Dans ce cas, l'Insee considère la commune principale, entière, comme un pseudo-canton unique et distinct. Pour la ou les communes périphériques, le pseudo-canton considéré est alors identique au vrai canton amputé de la fraction de la commune principale que comprend le vrai canton. Source : INSEE
