Regional inventory of the geological heritage of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes — Sites under study

The Ministry in charge of the environment launched in 2007 the national inventory of geological heritage, geodiversity of the natural heritage, like the ZNIEFF for the biodiversity slope. This mission is delegated in the region to the DREALs. The inventory of the geological heritage of the Auvergne-Rhône Alpes region counts today (March 2021) 462 sites validated by the National Museum of Natural History and integrated into the National Inventory (INPG). Some 30 others are under consideration and will be reviewed by the CRPG, the FNRC and then the National Commission. Community information will be provided in advance.
