A registered site is a natural site or monument whose conservation or preservation presents, from an artistic, historical, scientific, legendary or picturesque point of view, a general interest.
The listing concerns natural monuments and sites deserving of protection but not of sufficient interest to justify their classification, or constitutes a precautionary measure prior to classification.
Registration shall be made by order of the Minister responsible for the sites, after consulting the departmental commission on nature, landscapes and sites without the consent of the owners concerned being required
