Dataset description

The SEARSE project is a component of the CRESICA (Consortium for Research, Higher Education and Innovation in New Caledonia) programme. It is also part of Axis 2 of the Ifremer — Communities of New Caledonia Framework Agreement 2017-2021 named PRESENCE (Pression on Recifo-Lagoon Ecosystems of New Caledonia). The objective of this project is to identify the signatures of rivers that are important carriers of sediment transport but also dissolved elements potentially harmful to the functioning of the coral ecosystem (excessive nutrient salts, metals and other contaminants) and their fate in the plumes. The study focuses on 4 rivers of the Grand Noumea. This data presents the location of water quality monitoring stations at the mouth of the Dumbéa River along a transect cross shore.
