Dataset description

The data package contains the atlas of the flooding areas of Lorraine and the Rhine-Meuse basin district. In Lorraine and on the Rhine-Meuse basin administrative district, the flooding atlas shall contain, when it has been produced, the following information concerning the flood hazard: Modelled centennial flood, Hydrogeomorphological Crue, historical floods. ** Modelled centennial flood: Area exposed to the theoretical flood calculated from the analysis of past floods and which has a per cent chance to occur each year. It can also be said that the centennial flood occurs on average ten times per millennium. On the Moselle stream, the modelled flood of 1947 was represented in the modelled centennial flood layer because its return period is more than 100 years. ** Hydrogeomorphological flood: Maximum flooding area defined by the study of fluviatile hydrosystems. The demarcated area on CARTORISQUE consists of the minor bed, the major bed and the exceptional major bed of the watercourse. It corresponds to the flooding field of exceptional floods. ** Historical flood: Areas exposed to historical flooding observed in the past VERBATIM: The three types of zoning (the modelled centennial flood, the surface obtained by the hydrogeomorphological method, the historical floods) result from different methods and therefore have a different meaning. Any exploitation or representation of these data must be made knowingly with a distinction between the different zonings. Data produced on the Large Flood Risk Territories (HRT) under the Flood Directive have not been added to previously produced Flood Hazardous Area Atlas (AZI) data. They should be added to supplement the AZI. Files contained in the data package: On Lorraine and the Rhine-Meuse Basin — AZI_crue_centennale_b41.TAB, — AZI_crues_historical_b41.TAB, — AZI_methode_hydrogeomorphological_b41.TAB. On Lorraine: — AZI_crue_centennale_r41.TAB, — AZI_crues_historical_r41.TAB, — AZI_methode_hydrogeomorphological_r41.TAB. On the Rhine-Meuse Basin — AZI_crue_centennale_brm.TAB, — AZI_crues_historical_brm.TAB, — AZI_methode_hydrogeomorphological_brm.TAB.
