Dataset description

The Water Planning and Management Scheme (SAGE) is a planning tool, established by the 1992 Water Act, aimed at the balanced and sustainable management of water resources. It aims to reconcile the satisfaction with the development of different uses and the protection of aquatic environments, taking into account the specificities of a territory. The inventory of wetlands of the BF SAGE was carried out between 2010 and 2012 by Asconit consultants, for the Lorraine region which was responsible for the animation of the SAGE. Wetlands over 100 m² have been listed and data entered at 1/25000th. A prioritisation was carried out to guide the recommendations and rules of the SAGE. Priority water management wetlands (WWAs) have been identified by superseding medium/strong hydraulic issues on the territory (drinking water supply, water quality, stretching and flooding) with wetlands with medium or strong hydraulic functionality. A level 1 distinction (drinking water supply, stretching)/level 2 (water quality, flooding) was made to make an intermediate classification. Article 8 of the SAGE Regulation concerns these ZHPGEs, which explains why they are made available in particular zonings. This is not ZHIEP or ZSGE. The inventory is not exhaustive and does not have the accuracy of a statutory water policy inventory.
