Dataset description

The Saint-Malo Marine Submersion Risk Prevention Plan was approved by order of the Prefect dated 18 July 2017. The SMPP is a regulatory document designed to improve the safety of people and property in the face of the risks of marine submersion. As a priority, it aims not to increase risks and to reduce vulnerability in the perimeters it covers, both from the point of view of future urbanisation and the construction and use of the territory. The boundaries of a hazard zone are shown on the hazard map depending on the level of the hazard. The intensity of the submersion phenomenon is defined by hazard mapping, taking a centennial occurrence phenomenon. The baseline scenario incorporates a consideration of the effects of climate change on the average ocean level. Simulations of the submersion hazard are based on the parameters “horizontal speed” and “water height” and are defined by the low, medium, strong and very strong hazard.
