Dataset description

Since 1994, the Bureau de Recherches Géologique et Minières (BRGM) has been inventorying all events on land movements in France. The Mouvement de Terrain database (BDMvt) memorises in a homogeneous way, all the information available in France, on recent situations and on past events, and allows the knowledge of phenomena. It has been managed and developed since 1994 by the BRGM with the support of: — the Ministry of Ecology renamed Ministry of Ecological and Solidarity Transition (MTES); — the Ministry of Higher Education and Research; — in collaboration with the Laboratoire Central des Ponts et Chaussées and their regional network consisting of the Regional Laboratories (LR) and Les Centres d’études Techniques de l’Equipement (CETE); — the catering services of the Lands in the Mountain. The data contained in BDMVT comes from: — former bases, archives and partial inventories held by the organisations contributing to the base’s feeding; — specific departmental inventories made since 2001; — specific information of various origins (media, studies, individuals, communities, associations, etc.). The BDMvt lists the land movements listed: in metropolitan France; in the overseas departments: Antilles, Guyana and Réunion. A mapping of the field movement hazard is carried out on a departmental scale by the BRGM on this basis. * The DDT is not responsible for publishing this data, this metadata sheet is for information purposes only
