Simple download service (Atom) of the dataset: Natura 2000 sites under the Habitat Directive (SAC) in the Great East

The dataset contains Natura 2000 sites under the Habitat Directive in the Great East also known as Special Areas of Conservation (SACs). These areas form part of the Natura 2000 network of Community areas for the protection of habitats and species of Community interest. Special Areas of Conservation (SACs) are maritime and terrestrial sites which include natural habitats or habitats of species of wild fauna and flora listed by order of the Minister responsible for the environment and whose rarity, vulnerability or specificity justify the designation of such areas and hence special attention. (source: Aten, legal sheets 2005). Note the creation of two fields allowing access, by sites, to the DREAL and INPN files. It should be noted that the NATURA 2000 network also contains sites under the SPA Birds Directive in the Great East. Name of the GIS layer: NATURA2000_ZSC_S_R44.shp
