Dataset description

Land bordering a watercourse or the diversion of a watercourse, or situated in its watershed, or in an estuarine zone, may be encumbered by a utility easement having one or more of the following objects: — creation of temporary retention areas for floodwater or runoff, by means of improvements to artificially increase their storage capacity of such waters, in order to reduce floods or runoff in downstream areas; — creation or restoration of mobility areas of the minor bed of a watercourse upstream of urbanised areas in areas known as ‘stream mobility zones’, in order to preserve or restore its essential hydrological and geomorphological characteristics; — preservation or restoration of “strategic areas for water management” defined by the plan for the sustainable management and management of water resources and aquatic environments of a water management and management scheme (SAGE). The generator of a public easement is a geographical entity whose nature or function induced, by virtue of regulations, constraints on the way the land is occupied on the surrounding land. The disappearance or destruction on the site of the generator does not result in the removal of the easement(s) associated with it. Only a new act of annulment or repeal by the competent authority may legally remove the effects of the easement(s) in question.
