Dataset description

List and location of public libraries of municipal and intercommunal status as at 31.12.2018. _ ****_ ** the address data in the “List of Public Libraries” file are those of the institutions known to the Ministry of Culture for the year in question via a partnership with 80 departmental councils. Gaps may remain in non-partner departments.** ****This dataset gathers the addresses of municipal libraries, classified municipal libraries and departmental libraries. **** **** _ ****_ The geolocation of this dataset is carried out from the postal address (BAN geocoding reference), and failing that, from the INSEE code. This file has been enriched with the fields “Hourly Amplitude” and “Surface”. The hourly amplitude is equal to the usual weekly opening time of the reading place. The unit of the surface is the square meter. The values of the fields “Hourly Amplitude” and “Surface” refer only to the year 2018. **Note** the data model has been modified: the field “how2” has been renamed “type_address”. **** _ **more about**_ the [Public Reading Observatory](http://www.culturecommunication.gouv.fr/Politiques-ministerielles/Livre-et-Lecture/Bibliotheques/Observatoire-de-la-lecture-publique) **_and_** [survey device](http://www.culturecommunication.gouv.fr/Politiques-ministerielles/Livre-et-Lecture/Bibliotheques/Observatoire-de-la-lecture-publique/Repondre-a-l-enquete/Enquete-sur-les-bibliotheques-municipales) (http://www.culturecommunication.gouv.fr/Politiques-ministerielles/Livre-et-Lecture/Bibliotheques/Observatoire-de-la-lecture-publique)
