Dataset description

The Perimeters of Agglomeration make it possible to delimit the special police power of traffic and parking on the public road domain of metropolitan territory. The boundaries of the agglomeration are fixed by order of the Mayor (Article R411-2 of the Highway Code) and are marked by signs placed for this purpose along the road that crosses or borders it (Article R110-2 of the Highway Code). The public road domain is defined by Article L111-1 of the Highway Code and by Article L2111-14 of the General Code of Property of Public Persons. The power of police for road traffic and parking is defined in Articles L411-1 et seq. of the Highway Code and L2213-1 et seq. of the General Code of Local and Regional Authorities. This power makes it possible, in particular, to apply measures prohibiting, restricting or regulating traffic or parking on certain routes, by decrees of the competent authority and putting in place the corresponding police signage Since Law No 2017-257 of 28 February 2017 relating to the status of Paris and metropolitan planning (L 5217.3 of the CGCT), this police power has been held: => in agglomeration: by the Mayor of the Commune, on all roads in the public road, => outside the agglomeration: by the President of Rennes Métropole on all metropolitan roads (ex-communal and ex-departmental roads).
